Overview
Batman Garage respects the privacy of every visitor. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to opt out. We collect the minimum necessary to run a working website.
What We Collect Automatically
- Server logs: Our web server records standard access logs (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp, response status). These are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
- Google Analytics 4: We use Google Analytics (measurement ID
G-E143WDVGBM) to understand which articles readers find useful. GA4 collects pseudonymous data — page views, approximate location (country/region), device type, browser. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. We do not sell or share this data.
Cookies
Batman Garage uses only the cookies set by Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_E143WDVGBM). We do not set additional first-party tracking cookies. We do not embed third-party advertising trackers.
You can disable analytics by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser, using a browser-level blocker (uBlock Origin, Brave Shields), or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not require sign-up, accounts or login to read articles.
- We do not collect names, email addresses or contact details unless you voluntarily submit them via the contact page.
- We do not run advertising networks or behavioural tracking pixels.
- We do not sell, rent or share any data with third parties for marketing.
External Embeds and Links
Articles may include images served from external sources (manufacturer CDNs, press archives) and links to third-party websites. When you click those, you are subject to their own privacy policies.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR and similar regulations, you can request access, correction or deletion of any data we hold about you (which, for most readers, is none — see "What We Do NOT Collect"). To make a request, contact us via the contact page.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy materially changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page will be revised and the change noted in the page footer.
