Ferrari CZ26: One-Off SF90-Based Special Project Reimagines 1970s Italian Design

Ferrari revealed the CZ26 on August 14, 2026 during Monterey Car Week at Pebble Beach, California, as the latest one-off from the Ferrari Special Projects programme. Commissioned by a client in the United States and built on the SF90 Stradale platform, the Ferrari CZ26 pairs a completely bespoke coachbuilt body with the donor car's 986 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The project was developed by the Ferrari Design Studio under Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni and took roughly two years from first sketches to the finished car. Only one example exists, and the CZ26 will not enter series production.

Ferrari CZ26 Design: 1970s Italian Industrial Inspiration

Ferrari states that the CZ26 draws on the most significant examples of Italian industrial design from the 1970s. Instead of the SF90 Stradale's flowing, sculpted surfaces, the CZ26 uses flatter panels, sharper creases and a low, wide two-box profile with a capsule-like cabin set between heavily defined wheel arches. The front leading edge is almost vertical, while the rear is short and abruptly cut off.

The nose is dominated by a full-width functional grille whose glossy black upper section conceals ultra-slim LED headlights, cooling ducts and sensors. Design cues at the front echo the electric Ferrari Luce, while the rear, with its cantilevered full-width light bar and quad LED elements, references the 12Cilindri. The doors are slab-sided with a strong shoulder line, and the rear-fender intakes carry a Rosso Lampante highlight.

The exterior is finished in Argento Veloce, a liquid-look silver developed specifically for this car, contrasted by Rosso Lampante details and pigmented carbon fibre around the wheel arches and aerodynamic elements. Bespoke 20-inch wheels combine a gloss-black centre with shot-peened outer surfaces, wrapped in 255/35 front and 315/30 rear tyres.

The redesign goes deeper than the body panels. Ferrari re-engineered the cooling layout, added dedicated airflow channels and air curtains at the outer edges of the front bumper, fitted vortex generators to a revised underbody and developed a new rear spoiler and enlarged diffuser package. The stated objective was additional downforce without a significant drag penalty, so that the CZ26 keeps the performance envelope of the SF90 Stradale despite a completely different silhouette.

Underneath the one-off bodywork the CZ26 is mechanically a Ferrari SF90 Stradale. The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 produces 786 hp (586 kW) and 800 Nm of torque on its own. Three electric motors add a combined 162 kW, fed by a 7.9 kWh battery, for a total system output of 986 hp (735 kW). Power reaches all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the car can cover up to 25 km in electric-only mode.

Ferrari CZ26 Performance: 0-100 km/h and Top Speed

Ferrari quotes the same performance figures as the SF90 Stradale: 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 328 km/h (204 mph). Carbon-ceramic brakes stop the car from 100 km/h in less than 29.5 metres. Weight distribution is 45 percent front and 55 percent rear, with the car measuring approximately 4.76 m long, 2.01 m wide and 1.19 m tall on a 2.65 m wheelbase.

Ferrari CZ26 Interior: 3D-Printed Seats and Technical Fabric

The cabin architecture and digital driver interface are carried over from the SF90 Stradale, but the materials are unique to the CZ26. Black technical fabric covers much of the dashboard and door panels, with body-colour Argento Veloce sections on the dashboard, door cards and instrument binnacle. The seats feature 3D-printed inserts, Rosso Lampante accents and embroidered CZ26 logos, while gloss carbon fibre with metallic filaments and satin-finished carbon appear on the structural trim.

Ferrari CZ26 vs SF90 Stradale: What Changed

The CZ26 retains the SF90 Stradale's chassis, hybrid drivetrain, transmission, wheelbase and core interior architecture. Everything visible is new: exterior panels, lighting, wheels, cooling and aero hardware, paint and cabin materials. Performance figures are identical, which is unusual for a coachbuilt one-off and reflects the amount of aerodynamic and thermal validation carried out during the two-year programme.

Ferrari CZ26 Price and Special Projects Programme

Ferrari does not publish prices for Special Projects commissions. Comparable one-offs such as the SP48 Unica and SP-8 are understood to have cost their owners several million dollars, and market estimates for the CZ26 sit in the same range. The "26" in the name indicates the twenty-sixth car delivered through the programme, which has produced bespoke Ferraris for individual clients since 2008.
