The Mercedes-AMG ONE is not simply a road car with Formula 1-inspired styling. The 1.6-liter hybrid powertrain

At the center of the ONE is a 1,599-cc turbocharged V6 mounted ahead of the rear axle. Mercedes-AMG states that the combustion engine produces 422 kW, or 574 hp, at 9,000 rpm and can reach 11,000 rpm. It uses pneumatic valve springs, a solution associated with modern Formula 1 power-unit design rather than conventional production-car valvetrain hardware.

The road car’s complete E PERFORMANCE system adds four electric motors. Two power the front axle independently, enabling front-axle torque vectoring. A third motor, the MGU-K, is integrated with the combustion engine. The fourth, the MGU-H, is mounted on the turbocharger shaft, where Mercedes-AMG says it can electrically spin the compressor wheel to up to 100,000 rpm before exhaust-gas energy takes over.

Power reaches the road through AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive. Carbon structure, active aero and cockpit

The Mercedes-AMG ONE uses a carbon-fiber monocoque and carbon-fiber bodywork. Its engine and transmission are load-bearing parts of the car’s structure, while the suspension uses aluminum five-link geometry at both ends and adjustable push-rod damper systems.

AMG fitted carbon-fiber ceramic brakes as standard. The front axle uses 398 × 38-mm internally ventilated and perforated discs with six-piston fixed calipers; the rear uses 380 × 34-mm discs with four-piston fixed calipers. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R M01 tires measure 285/35 ZR 19 at the front and 335/30 ZR 20 at the rear.

The aerodynamic system is equally central to the ONE’s identity. Its hardware includes active front-diffuser flaps, active front-wheel-arch louvres, a two-piece retractable rear wing with an adjustable flap, NACA cooling inlets, and the vertical shark fin that links the roof intake to the rear bodywork. Mercedes-AMG describes Highway, Track, and Race DRS aerodynamic settings. In Track mode, the car lowers by 37 mm at the front and 30 mm at the rear; Race DRS reduces drag by flattening the rear wing and closing louvres and flaps.

Inside, the cockpit follows the same functional logic. The seat structures are integrated into the carbon-fiber monocoque, while occupants adjust the steering wheel, pedal box, and seat backrests around that fixed core. A Formula 1-inspired steering wheel sits ahead of two 10-inch displays, and a MirrorCam system replaces a traditional interior rear-view mirror.
