The Czech Praga Bohema has lapped Spa-Francorchamps in 2:21.42, the fastest time Praga knows of for a road-legal car. It beat the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC, which had held the benchmark at 2:23.081 since 2020. The lap was set on August 12, 2026, on road tyres, during a customer track day with other cars on the circuit.
How the 2:21.42 Lap Happened
Praga test driver Aleš Jirásek set the time during a Curbstone track day at Spa (Sports Car Digest). There was no dedicated record attempt, the car had “no special preparation”, and it ran on road-legal tyres. Praga announced the lap on August 20.
“We weren’t at Spa to chase a record. We were there with customers to enjoy driving one of the greatest circuits in the world,” Jirásek said in the official Praga release. “We were on road tyres, there was traffic on track, and the car received no special preparation.”
The previous benchmark came from Pagani factory driver Andrea Palma, who lapped Spa in 2:23.081 in a Huayra Roadster BC in September 2020 (Pagani). The Bohema was about 1.66 seconds faster. In other words, a road car with number plates and passenger space is now quicker around Spa than a Formula 4 single-seater, and only a few seconds behind a one-make Ferrari race car.
Praga Bohema Price and Production
When Praga delivered the first production car in December 2024, it quoted €1.43 million plus taxes (Praga). At launch, the car was listed at about £1.1 million in the UK, and duPont REGISTRY quotes around $1.5 million in the US. Prices have been reported differently over time, so treat the GBP and USD figures as a guide.
Only 89 cars will be built, at fewer than 20 a year. The first customer car went to the Netherlands in December 2024, and the first US owner took delivery at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2025. “It was never intended to be a compromised track special,” said Praga owner Tomáš Kašpárek. “Our objective was to combine genuine race-car performance with the freedom and usability of a road-legal supercar.”
700 bhp Twin-Turbo V6 and Under 1,000 kg
The Bohema uses the Praga-Litchfield PL38DETT, a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 derived from the Nissan GT-R engine and rebuilt by Litchfield with a dry sump, new turbochargers and a titanium exhaust. It makes 700 bhp (710 PS, 522 kW) at 6,800 rpm and 725 Nm. A Hewland 6-speed sequential gearbox with paddles drives the rear wheels.
Praga quotes a weight of under 1,000 kg; Top Gear lists 982 kg. The carbon body produces more than 900 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, and Praga lists a top speed of 317 km/h (197 mph). The standard tyres are Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R, with 380 mm carbon-ceramic brakes. The car was designed by Slovak designer Juraj Mitro.
A Record Habit: Slovakia Ring, Most, Brno and Dunsfold
Spa is not the Bohema’s first lap record. At Slovakia Ring, which Top Gear calls Praga’s test track, Jirásek lapped in 2:03.45. For comparison, a Porsche 911 GT3 RS is in the low 2:10s there. The Bohema also set 1:35.12 at Autodrom Most and 2:01.67 at Brno.
In May 2025, racing driver Ben Collins lapped the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold in 1:09.8 on road tyres (Motoring Research).
