Dodge revealed the 2027 Charger Super Bee Launch Edition on Thursday, 7 August 2026 at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, on the eve of the annual Roadkill Nights drag festival on Woodward Avenue. The car is a limited-production, launch-year special that revives the Super Bee nameplate for the current-generation Charger platform, and it lands during the Dodge Charger’s 60th anniversary year — six decades on from the 1966 original.
The Super Bee’s headline is a straight number-versus-heritage story. It uses the 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged Hurricane inline-six found in the current Charger Sixpack range, but with new hardware and calibration that lifts output to SAE-certified 600 hp and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. That gives Dodge a 200 hp-per-litre figure the brand is calling “the most power-dense muscle car ever” — and, more importantly for muscle-car culture, it means a six-cylinder Charger now runs 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds, tenth-of-a-second quicker than the 707 hp 2015 Hellcat that defined the last era of the model.
Hurricane Sixpack H.O. — 56 mm Garrett Turbos, 30 psi, 200 HP Per Litre
The engine is a Super Bee-exclusive high-output tune of the twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six. Compared with the 550 hp Scat Pack version of the same block, Dodge has fitted larger 56 mm Garrett Motion turbochargers running over 30 psi of boost, revised the charge-air path with a thermal-wrapped charge-air-cooler duct, and reworked exhaust tuning for a more aggressive soundtrack and pronounced overrun on deceleration. The result is 7.5% more airflow, a broader torque plateau, and peak torque available from just 3,000 rpm all the way through 5,900 rpm.
Downstream, the Super Bee gets reinforced rear half-shafts nearly 10% stronger than the standard Sixpack Charger, developed and validated through dragstrip testing. The transmission is the eight-speed Torqueflite 880RE automatic. Drive is standard all-wheel drive, but a dedicated RWD button on the steering wheel switches 100% of available torque to the rear axle on demand — the Super Bee is the first Sixpack-powered Charger to offer that hardware. Torque Reserve returns in a new form, building boost against a held brake so the car can launch cleanly without cooking the turbos or unloading the rear tyres.
0–60 in 3.6 s, Quarter-Mile in 11.8 s — Quicker Than a Hellcat to 60
Dodge’s claimed straight-line numbers put the Super Bee inside serious V8 muscle-car territory. The Launch Edition runs 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds and the quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds — a 0.9-second improvement over the 2023 Charger Super Bee “Last Call” V8, and roughly six-tenths quicker in the quarter. For context, the 707 hp supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI-powered 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat did 0–60 in 3.7 seconds and the quarter in 11.0 seconds — so the new inline-six Super Bee beats the Hellcat to 60 by a tenth, while giving up eight-tenths on the strip.
The Launch Edition is described by Dodge as the quickest, fastest and most powerful Charger Sixpack yet, and the most powerful Super Bee ever built since the name debuted on the 1968 Coronet. It has 115 hp more than the 2023 Super Bee and 50 hp more than the current Scat Pack.
16-Inch Brembo Brakes, CDC Adaptive Suspension, Track and Drag Modes
Under the wheels sit 16-inch vented Brembo rotors at both ends — a first for a Sixpack-powered Charger — clamped by six-piston fixed front calipers and four-piston fixed rear calipers, all painted in the Launch Edition’s Hyper Lime signature colour. Brake-pad surface area grows by 27% versus the Scat Pack, and Dodge claims three times the brake-fade resistance of any other Sixpack Charger, and double that of the previous-generation SRT Charger. Dedicated brake-cooling ducts pull air directly from the front fascia to the calipers.
The chassis runs new Continuous Damping Control (CDC) dual-valve adaptive dampers that adjust damping force every 10 milliseconds (100 Hz). Front and rear spring rates go up 12% and 6% respectively, the rear stabilizer bar is 20% stiffer, and front tension-link bushing stiffness is up 25%. Wheels are 20-by-11-inch forged gloss-black at all four corners, wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tyres, 305/35ZR20 square set-up.
Alongside the standard Auto and Sport driver modes, the Launch Edition adds two Sixpack Charger firsts: Track Mode for closed-circuit driving with full-firm dampers, elevated shift points and dedicated stability tuning, and Drag Mode for the strip, using reduced front rebound and increased rear compression to maximise weight transfer at launch. A Cosworth-developed Drive Experience Recorder (DxR) captures synchronised 1080p / 60 fps video with vehicle data, and exports sessions to the AliveDrive app for lap analysis — another Sixpack Charger first.
Sucker Punch, Diamond Black, Shady — Three Launch-Edition Colours
The Launch Edition is offered exclusively in three exterior colours. Sucker Punch is a new-for-2027 high-impact yellow-green, paired with gloss-black “Stinger” bodyside stripes, a gloss-black hood patch with Super Bee text, and a gloss-black rear fascia. Diamond Black reverses the pairing, using Sucker Punch as an accent colour on the rear spoiler, rear fascia and bodyside stripes. Shady is a new-for-2027 subtle grey finish with gloss-black graphics — a stealthier, tone-on-tone execution for buyers who want the hardware without the graphics package shouting about it.
The front fascia is Super Bee-exclusive, with a refined stretched-metal grille texture, a Dark Neutral Gray Fratzog grille badge, and a track-tuned front splitter that’s one-third longer than the Scat Pack’s. At speed it works with a larger rear spoiler to add over 100 lb of downforce at 150 mph. The cooling package is enlarged to match: the high-temperature radiator circuit adds over 50% capacity, the low-temperature circuit more than doubles, and auxiliary radiators are integrated into the outboard corners of the fascia.
Cloth Performance Seats, Citrus Peel Inserts, RWD Steering-Wheel Button
Inside, the Launch Edition introduces the first cloth high-back performance seats offered in the modern Charger, combining aggressive bolstering with a Citrus Peel “tilt” insert pattern, embroidered Super Bee headrest logos, and dual-contrast Silver and Sour Lemon stitching. The steering wheel is Super Bee-exclusive: leather rim, larger paddle shifters, a Citrus Peel 12-o’clock marker, and the dedicated RWD button decorated with a silhouette of the Charger Sixpack. A Super Bee instrument-panel badge and dual-contrast stitching across the dash, door cards and shifter boot complete the cabin execution.

Price, Release Date and Availability
Dodge has not published pricing, ordering or availability details for the Super Bee Launch Edition. CEO Matt McAlear confirmed at the Pontiac reveal that those details will follow later in 2026. Production is confirmed as limited-run and will take place at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada, alongside the rest of the current-generation Charger family. Industry price expectations sit in the US$75,000–$95,000 band, reflecting a premium over the current Scat Pack Sixpack and roughly matching the 2023 Super Bee “Last Call” on an inflation-adjusted basis.
The Launch Edition is a spec-in-full model — buyers pick a colour (Sucker Punch, Diamond Black or Shady) and get the full 600 hp package, 16-inch Brembos, forged 20-inch wheels, CDC dampers, Track Mode, Drag Mode, RWD Mode, Torque Reserve, Line Lock, Launch Control, Drive Experience Recorder and full Super Bee cosmetic pack. Both four-door sedan and two-door coupe bodies are offered, in line with the rest of the current Charger line.
Roadkill Nights — Debut Weekend on Woodward Avenue
Dodge showed the Super Bee to media on Thursday 7 August at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, followed by a public appearance at the annual Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge festival on Woodward Avenue on Saturday 8 August. The event is Dodge’s dedicated street-drag showcase and has been the launch venue for several previous Charger and Challenger performance derivatives, tying the Super Bee reveal directly to the brand’s drag-strip heritage.
Verdict — A Six-Cylinder Muscle Car That Beats a Hellcat to 60
For a lot of Dodge buyers the Super Bee’s biggest number is the one that isn’t a horsepower figure: six cylinders. The 707 hp Hellcat and 485 hp 2023 Super Bee were the closing chapters of the HEMI V8 era for the Charger, and the current-generation car has since moved to the twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six and, on the Daytona side, a full-EV powertrain. What the Super Bee Launch Edition does is show what the Hurricane platform can produce when it’s given proper turbo, cooling, driveline and chassis hardware: a car that beats a Hellcat Charger to 60 mph, runs the quarter-mile in the elevens, stops on 16-inch Brembos, and includes drag-strip and track-mode calibrations that no previous Sixpack Charger has had access to.
It does not pretend to replace the V8 — the Hellcat still wins on top-end power, quarter-mile trap, and cultural resonance for the Mopar faithful. But as a launch statement for the six-cylinder Charger, and as the most powerful Super Bee ever built, the 2027 Launch Edition is the strongest hand Dodge has played since the Last Call cars closed out the LX platform in 2023.
