CEER Exobot: Saudi Arabia’s First Electric Car vs Tesla Cybertruck

Saudi Arabia now has a car company. CEER — Arabic for “drive forward” — is the Kingdom’s first electric-car brand. It revealed its first production vehicles on September 21, 2026: the Exobot sedan and Exobot SUV. They are not called Vila or Wila, and they are not a pickup. The SUV’s folded bodywork is why people search “Saudi Cybertruck.” Both cars use a tri-motor electric layout, falcon-style gullwing Shahin Wing doors and a 2.4-metre windshield. Price is unpublished. Sales start in Saudi Arabia in early 2027.

Is the CEER Exobot Real?

Yes. The cars look like a render because the glasshouse is that large, which is why headlines asked if Saudi Arabia’s Ceer EVs were fake. They are a production programme: camouflaged prototypes leaked before the reveal, and CEER showed both body styles at the CEER Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City, north of Jeddah. CEER Car Price in Saudi Arabia and 2027 Release Date

CEER has not published an official price for the Exobot sedan, the Exobot SUV, the limited First Edition or the later Plus trim — not in Saudi Arabia, not in SAR, and not for export. First Edition cars include a numbered plaque that matches the VIN, black-and-red Nappa leather, a wall charger with installation and a six-year warranty pack. Sales open in Saudi Arabia in early 2027, with deliveries expected in March 2027, then other Gulf markets. The United States, the United Kingdom and wider Europe are not confirmed at launch. Who Makes CEER Motors — Foxconn, BMW, Rimac, Lucid

CEER was formed in 2022 as a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Taiwan’s Foxconn. It is the Kingdom’s first domestic passenger-car brand and a Vision 2030 industrial project, built at the CEER Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as PIF chairman, unveiled the cars himself. Exterior design is led by Rob Melville, formerly design director at McLaren. Reports on the motors differ: Carscoops has said BMW licensed drivetrain components; GQ Middle East later named Rimac for the rear drive and Hyundai Transys for the front motors. CEER’s own materials do not name the supplier.

PIF also controls Lucid. CEER vs Lucid is a real search because both are Saudi-backed EVs; they are not the same car. Lucid builds luxury sedans in the United States. CEER is a Foxconn joint venture building the Exobot in KAEC for Gulf buyers first. The plan is seven CEER car models by 2030, including mid-size and compact cars, some of them hybrids or combustion. Local-content target: 45 percent by 2034. CEO James Deluca (ex-GM, VinFast) summarised the design brief as the Crown Prince’s line: if the world goes left, go right.

Saudi Cybertruck? Did CEER Copy Tesla

The Verge’s headline after the reveal was that the Exobot makes the Cybertruck look normal. Gizmodo called it an uglier Cybertruck from Saudi Arabia. Auto.cz wrote that Saudi Arabia’s own cars were clearly inspired by the truck. That search language is the SUV, not the sedan. Both cars share the current “cyber” kit: faceted bodywork, a yoke, steer-by-wire, tri-motor all-wheel drive. Tesla put that language on a pickup with a stainless-steel exoskeleton. CEER put it on a glass sedan and a taller SUV and then named Saudi sources: Hegra stone architecture in the mid-body surfaces, triangular Al-Lahuj wheel graphics, and 32 LED dashes in the light bar for 1932, the year the Kingdom was unified. It is not a Cybertruck clone in body style: no bed, no stainless skin, no pickup.

CEER calls them Shahin Wing doors, after the falcon. Search and most headlines call them gullwing doors. They open in a 60 cm arc, nearly three metres long, with electrochromic lower glass that switches from tinted to clear. The reference is closer to a Tesla Model X, a DeLorean or the glass in a McLaren Senna door than to Tesla’s truck. The sedan’s 15-degree windshield is a 1970s wedge idea executed in laminated, triple silver-coated glass with a reflective coating for desert sun — the opposite of armour glass on a stainless hull.

Melville’s McLaren years and the Crown Prince’s “go right” brief are CEER’s answer to the copy question. The overlap is real on the SUV. Gullwing Doors — CEER Shahin Wing

Ars Technica’s first-drive notes from the factory say the doors do not swing wider than a conventional door, which matters in a parking garage. They will matter more in 50 °C heat. The switchable lower glass is the practical trick: tap it opaque for privacy, clear when the driver needs side visibility. First Edition cars get that electrochromic glass as standard.

CEER Exobot Horsepower — 850 HP at Launch, 1,111 HP on the Sheet

Both body styles share a tri-motor all-wheel-drive pack and a 112 kWh battery on an 800-volt architecture. The cars customers can order first are First Edition:

• 850 hp (625 kW) and 1,000 N·m (738 lb-ft)
• Sedan 0–100 km/h in 2.6 seconds (CEER IVM figure)
• SUV 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds
• DC charge 10–80 percent in under 30 minutes, peak about 250 kW; 11 kW onboard AC

CEER also lists a higher-output specification of 1,111 hp and 1,500 N·m: sedan 2.1 seconds and 250 km/h, SUV 2.4 seconds and 210 km/h. That pack is not the First Edition. It is not clear when it goes on sale. First Edition sedan top speed in CEER’s launch materials is 230 km/h; the SUV is limited to 210 km/h in both outputs.

Range is quoted on the old NEDC cycle: 670 km (416 miles) sedan, 560 km (348 miles) SUV. Car and Driver’s EPA-equivalent estimate is roughly 318 and 265 miles. Treat the brochure numbers as optimistic until an independent cycle is published. Chassis: double-wishbone front, multi-link rear, dual-chamber air suspension, rear-wheel steering. SUV ground clearance is adjustable from 240 to 300 mm (up to 11.8 inches). Drive modes include Track, Drag and Drift; the SUV adds Sand.

CEER Exobot vs Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast

Put the First Edition next to Tesla’s tri-motor Cyberbeast and the powertrain brief is almost the same car in two body styles. The Cybertruck remains a 5.68-metre pickup with a stainless skin, 11,000 lb towing and Supercharging to 325 kW. The Exobot is shorter, glassier, and faster on the 1,111 hp sheet. Tesla’s Cybercab is a different product again — a two-seat robotaxi, not a flagship SUV.

On paper the First Edition sedan matches the Cyberbeast to 62 mph. The 1,111 hp Exobot would beat it. Tesla still wins on charging speed, independent EPA range, towing and a truck bed. CEER wins on theatre: gullwings, a 48-inch 8K dash and a cabin cooled for 65 °C parking. Other 1,000 hp-class EVs in this archive include the Yangwang U9.

Interior — 48-Inch Horizon, Yoke, Physical Buttons

Steer-by-wire cuts lock-to-lock from 400 degrees to 160. An 8-inch rear-occupant display, Arabic/English voice assistant, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at launch, over-the-air updates, a three-scent fragrance system and SoundStage exciters that use cabin surfaces as speakers complete the brief. Hands-free highway assist is claimed now; Auto Lane Change, Highway Pilot and Navigate on Pilot are listed as 2028 OTA items. Camera mirrors replace conventional door mirrors.

Built for 65 °C

CEER’s most specific engineering claim is thermal. Halo Cooling plus dual front and rear air-conditioning is said to drop cabin temperature from 65 °C to 32 °C in 10 minutes. Triple silver-coated glass and roof airflow are meant to cut solar soak. If those numbers hold in summer Riyadh, they matter more than the 1,111 hp slide. Safety hardware includes seven airbags, cell-to-pack battery structure and an aluminium space-frame.

First Edition colours are Harrat Grey or White Musk with a black pack and red calipers. Plus adds Sky Silver and optional colour packs. The wider palette also lists Abha Green and Obaya Black.
